In our continuing investigation of the history and meaning of the siddur and Jewish prayer experience, we're up to the part in the service when the
Torah is on the table. How ancient are the blessings we say? Blessings done over the reading come from a different age than prayers for the sick
or for remembering loved ones. We'll look at the prayers we insert on Shabbat after the Torah reading, as well.
The Siddur Class meets Thursday mornings, from 8:40 - 9:40 am.
