Book Discussion Group

The Or Zarua Book Discussion Group serves to encourage congregants to read a good book for the pleasure of reading and to learn more about Jewish history, Israel and contemporary Jewish life in a convivial forum for sharing insights. Book discussions provide a way for Or Zarua members to get to know each other in a casual setting. Knowing that one will have the chance to bounce ideas off other congregants when one reads a Book Discussion Group selection inspires us to find time in our hurried City lives to read some wonderful books each year. We choose fiction and nonfiction with Jewish subjects or content, both classic and newly published works. A number of Or Zarua members are authors whose books we have read and who have joined us to discuss their work. Since the opening of our new building meetings are held in the Or Zarua library on the fourth floor about once every six weeks on Sunday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. We close each meeting with refreshments and time to chat.
