Chaim Dovid in Concert

Or Zarua's sanctuary provides a uniquely warm and intimate setting for musical performances. In November 2004 and November 2006 we had the pleasure of hosting musician, songwriter and singer Chaim David Saracik - whose name, despite its common spelling in English, is always pronounced "Chayim Dovid"! - for a concert while he was visiting New York from his home in Jerusalem. A former student of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, Chaim Dovid's music, whether a freilakh or a contemplative, wordless niggun, is music not just to be listened to, but to be experienced.

We hope to make our synagogue a venue for many more musical events in the future!
