Ilana Burgess
Ilana Burgess, Youth Education Director of Congregation Or Zarua
Tel.: 212.452.2310, Ext. 15
Email: iburgess@orzarua.org

Ilana joined Or Zarua in July 2003, building upon a thirty year engagement as an educator and volunteer in the various Jewish communities in which she has lived.

Following sixteen years of work in Israel, Ilana began her United States education career in Louisville, Kentucky, and continued in West Palm Beach, Florida. After fifteen years as a teacher and principal she moved to New York City and joined the Solomon Schechter High School of New York, teaching Hebrew and Bible. These positions gave her outstanding preparation to assume her current position at Or Zarua.

Ilana earned a BA degree in teaching from Beit Berl, in Kfar Saba, Israel, and a BA degree in social work from Beit Rutenberg, in Haifa, Israel.
