Program Development

Or Zarua offers a variety of programs in which we try to meet the interests of our total community.

Congregational Shabbat meals are served approximately once a month (either Friday night dinner or Shabbat lunch). We often feature speakers at these meals who have educated us on such subjects as anti-Semitism in Europe, growing up Jewish in Japan, and the psychological makeup of our forefathers.

Some congregational Shabbat meals don't feature guest speakers and are held to give the OZ family the opportunity to get together to enjoy Shabbat with davening, eating, and singing.

Music is an important part of our lives. We have enjoyed the work of Magevet, the Yale University Acapella group, Chaim David, and Andy Statman in concert in our sanctuary - an excellent venue for musical programs. More concerts will be presented in the future.
