Join us when the fun starts with a festive Ma’ariv and Megillah Reading.
Or L’Atid students will help introduce the Megillah reading with an original WEEKEND UPDATE – PURIM EDITION (see below for more information). Then, we’ll chant the Megillah from ZOOM boxes.
Everyone will be online!

Registration is required for the Thursday night celebration.

Join the OZ community at our first-ever virtual Purim in this unique time in the world. Come celebrate our raucous holiday, in costume and have your Megillah and noise-maker ready (courtesy of OZ Purim Packages)! Spin groggers (or bang on pots!) and make noise at our ZOOM Megillah reading and celebration.

OZ will be sending Purim Packages to all member families with a megillah and groggers included. If you would like to pick up your package in person or if you would like to have it sent to an alternate address, please submit the information using the Purim 2021 Form by Feb. 10.

Following the Zoom Megillah reading, you are cordially invited to hang onto your Zoom seats for…the first ever ZOOM PURIM SPIEL:

WITHOUT REALLY KVETCHING

featuring songs from How to Succeed, Moana, Frozen, Toy Story, Cinderella, Hair and more!!  Parody lyrics by Judy Buchman-Ziv, director, and Ellie Schaffer. Bir’nana and the musical Bornas family led by Ziggy will be presenting a musical and humorous zooming experience, accompanied by playbacks by our wonderful professional accompanist Jonathan Segal.  So, come online and Zoomalong!

So that you to can follow along with the megillah reading online, we are sending one copy of the Megillah and graggers to each member household, along with a small nosh.
If you would like to pick up your package in person or if you would like to have it sent to an alternate address, please submit the information using the Purim 2021 Form by Feb. 10.

Performers will join Sigal on Tuesdays, Feb. 9 and 23, at 4:00 pm to write our own Purim headlines.
Kids kindergarten and older are invited to participate in Weekend Update—Purim Edition! Add lots of laughs to the community-wide Purim celebration with original headlines in a parody newscast, Purim-style!

Or Zarua strives to maintain contact with our young adults who are away at college. For Purim, we send a “care package” to remind them that they are part of our extended family while they are away at school.
Email Deborah with the student’s name, school address, email, and cell phone number (include any food allergies) by Feb. 4.

 


 

Tuesday, Feb. 23, 5:00 pm

The whole community is invited to bake with Sigal. With Sigal’s instruction, make your own Hamentaschen with a variety of fillings. Use them to fill Mishloach Manot for socially-distant friends and family, or keep them to enjoy yourself! No baking experience required.

Sigal will send a list of ingredients and supplies needed to all registrants.
