SUMMARY:Gleaning Project\, Erev Christmas - Volunteers Needed!
DESCRIPTION:Thursday evening\, Dec. 24\n\nJust a reminder that it is again
the season for OZ’s Erev Christmas Gleaning Project and Eli Zabar is aga
in extending his generosity to donate food from some of his retail outlets
. The Gleaning Project on Erev Christmas will take place on Thursday eveni
ng\, December 24.\n\nAs in past years\, the Gleaning will take place at El
i’s Market on Third Avenue/80th Street and Eli’s Essentials outlets at
  87th Street/Lexington Avenue\, 91st Street/Madison Avenue and 73rd Stree
t/Madison Avenue. The starting times have not yet been determined but las
t year the starting time at Eli’s Market was 7:15 pm and the starting ti
me at 87th/Lexington was 8:00 pm. Last year\, and most years post-COVID\,
the other locations involved loading a truck with the already packed donat
ions. I am hoping that this year we will be able to do more of the actual
packing.\n\nAs I say each year\, the Gleaning Project has always been a gr
eat project for the children of the OZ community. For some\, it is the fir
st lesson towards understanding that there are many members of this and ot
her communities within New York City who are not as fortunate as are most
of us and but for what we gather and deliver they would be without a Holid
ay meal. For many it becomes the primary meal for more than one day.\n\nPl
ease let me know as soon as you can if you are interested in participating
by email at jeff32449@verizon.net or by text message or telephone call at
  (917) 697-1677.\n\nThanks for your consideration of this Project\,\n\nJef
 f Haberman\n\nMember\, Congregation Or Zarua\n\n&nbsp\;
