Tisha B’Av Services – Sunday morning and afternoon

August 7, 2022
All Day

Tisha B’Av marks the the destruction of the first Temple in Jerusalem in the year 586 BCE. It comes at the end of a three-week period that led to the Babylonian conquest of Jerusalem. On Tisha B’Av the entire Jewish community mourns the destruction of both Temples and other tragic events throughout Jewish history.

Sunday morning services are without tallit and t’fillin. As the day comes to an end, tallit and t’fillin are put on for Minhah services.

Tisha B’Av takes place during the summer months, so many people may not have heard the reading of Eikhah or participated in the Tisha B’Av services before. As a people we come together in times of simhah, but also in times of mourning. If you have never experienced Tisha B’Av before we encourage you to come this year.

Please commit to attending to ensure we have a minyan at all services.
