Let the music wake us, the poetry move us, and the words and whiskey heighten our senses. Elul, the month during which the shofar sounds, is a time to prepare in every way possible. The High Holy Days are the centerpieces during the definitive Jewish season for reflection about life’s purpose. The ability to achieve both spiritual humility and daring in the form of t’shuvah, or repentance, has to be nurtured. Bob Dylan has been wrestling with these themes for more than sixty years, guiding popular music, to affirm what it means to live in the light of the divine, and coloring our most intimate moments with poetry. In an evening of teaching, song, and conversation with Rabbi Scott Bolton, join Dr. Stephen Daniel Arnoff, CEO of the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center and author of About Man and God and Law: The Spiritual Wisdom of Bob Dylan, for a journey of sacred text, holy melodies, and t’shuvah through the voice of one of the great figures of religious imagination of our time. All that, and we’ll also enjoy an exclusive tasting of Bob Dylan’s signature (and hard-to-find) brand of whiskey, Heaven’s Door.
