Shabbat Message, November 22, 2024, Parashat Haye Sarah

Sarah was one hundred plus twenty plus seven when she died. She stopped at each of those ages and said “I no longer want to be like this any more.” So powerful was her ability to improve her life’s direction that the Torah recorded her age in a formula that suggests we, too, must stop to take deeper personal accountings of our lives.

The Kotzker Rebbe taught, “A person often believes something about himself that is not true. Undeceive yourself. Know who you truly are.”

May we be blessed to number our days with wisdom, insight and understanding.

Shabbat Shalom,

Rabbi Bolton
